The easiest beaches with kids
Platja Gran in Platja d'Aro (fine sand and shallow water), Llafranc beach (small and calm) and Platja Gran in Palamos have everything at hand: nearby parking, beach bars and shallow water. The Begur coves are beautiful but access with a stroller can be tricky.
Plans for non-beach days
Begur castle and its views, the medieval village of Pals, the anchovy museum in L'Escala with tasting and the glass-bottom boat in L'Estartit work at any age. On rainy days, Barcelona Aquarium or the Dali museum in Figueres (better with bought tickets) are safe bets.
How to arrange transfers with kids
Child and booster seats are free on request: state each child's age in the request notes and the vehicle comes prepared. A stroller counts as one large case when sizing the boot. For mobile beach days, a scheduled transfer avoids hunting for parking at small coves at midday.
The routine that works
Beach in the morning, lunch with siesta at the beach bar or hotel, and village or castle at the end of the afternoon when the sun drops. The coastal boats (Lloret-Tossa, L'Estartit-Medes) are the unanimous favourite activity: book the first morning departure, less heat and flatter sea.
