Girona in one day: the perfect walking route from the station

Morning: medieval quarter

From the station, a 15 minute walk to the centre. Cathedral and its staircase (9:00, no queues), Jewish quarter wandering to the Arab Baths (10:30) and up to the Wall walk (11:30) with the best views. The whole old town is walkable: no transport needed inside the city.

Lunch and afternoon by the river

Lunch in the Barri Vell and an afternoon crossing the Onyar: coloured houses, the stone bridge and ice cream on the Rambla. If time remains, the Cinema Museum or the shops on Nou street. Trains back to Barcelona leave hourly.

Arriving and returning

By train from Barcelona (Sants, 40 minutes on the fast one), or a direct transfer from Girona airport (25 minutes, 35-50 EUR per vehicle). With luggage or in a group, the door-to-door transfer avoids dragging cases along the wall.
