What to do on the Costa Brava when it rains: 8 plans that are not a mall

Dali museum, wineries, thermal baths, cinema... the best rainy-day plans between Girona and the coast.

What to do on the Costa Brava when it rains: 8 plans that are not a mall

The three museums that save any day

The Dali Theatre-Museum in Figueres (the jewel, book tickets), the Fishing Museum in Palamos (with market tasting on Tuesdays) and Girona's Art Museum with its Romanesque collection. All three fill half a day and none disappoints with kids.

Wineries and tastings under a roof

The DO Emporda wineries are the rainy-day plan par excellence: Perelada with its castle, Terra Remota with its award-winning architecture or a family farmhouse like Mas Llunes. Most visits last 90 minutes and end in a tasting: rainy day solved.

And if the rain is just passing...

The coves right after the rain are empty and the water is the cleanest of the year. Thermal baths at Caldea if you are in the north, and the Garrotxa springs near Olot as an inland alternative. The tramuntana that follows the rain leaves the cleanest sky of the year for photos.
