Cycling guide
Dozens of pro riders live here for a reason: quiet roads, smooth tarmac, mountains and sea within one ride. These are the six routes every visitor should tick.

The classic of the professional cyclists living in Girona: 6 km at 5% finishing at the sanctuary.
The old coast road (old C-65) finishing on the promenade with coffee by the sea.
Girona's hidden climb: 13 winding kilometres at constant gradient, no traffic.
The short, steep Montseny wall that splits groups: 4 km at 9%.
Smooth rolling along the coast with cove stops and coffee in Calella.
Girona to Sant Feliu on the greenway: flat for everyone and gravel friendly.
Girona airport is 25 minutes from the city and Barcelona 75: both work for bike trips. A boxed bike needs a van (count it as 2 large cases); bike bags fit a sedan for one traveller. Rental road and gravel bikes in Girona city are excellent if you prefer to travel light — mention it in the request notes and the transfer stops at the shop.
Best months: March-June and September-November. July-August only early mornings.
